Dr. Wang Daqian, co-founder and general manager of Polyseq Biotechnology, stated that PolysseqOne is a medium throughput sequencer with a portable and compact device. The sequencer is connected to a laptop or desktop computer via USB 3.0, with a simple and user-friendly control software interface and easy operation. The PolyseqCell sequencing chip is based on silicon-based semiconductor chips and integrates the core sequencing signal amplification part. It has the characteristics of high integration, low noise, and high flux. In terms of data output, PolyseqCell has 2560 sequencing units per chip, which can obtain up to 60G of high-quality data theoretically, meeting the sequencing needs of various application scenarios. In terms of genome sequencing, the consistency accuracy (30x) of PolysseqOne exceeds 99.9%.

Researcher Wang Xiangxi from the Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences showed the research results carried out by PolyseqOne at the press conference. In this study, second-generation sequencing technology and PolysseqOne sequencing system were used to analyze the infection status of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in clinical patients' bronchoalveolar lavage fluid. As an early user of the universal biological nanopore gene sequencer, researcher Wang Xiangxi believes that the PolysseqOne nanopore sequencing platform has significant advantages over second-generation sequencing in terms of shorter sequencing time, the ability to measure longer sequences, and simpler subsequent analysis.

Academician Xu Tao, Executive Deputy Director of Guangzhou National Laboratory and Director of Bio Island Laboratory, attended the press conference via video and delivered a speech. He said that in the past decade, medical and health big data has been rapidly developing in terms of dimensions, breadth, and depth. With the "resolution" revolution in medicine, multi omics technologies such as genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics have been widely applied in the field of healthcare. Whole genome sequencing technology, as an important technical means in life science research, is an essential research tool for molecular diagnostics and biomedicine.

Chen Runsheng, academician of the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, made a report entitled "Big Model of Artificial Intelligence" at the press conference. Academician Chen has participated in the assembly and gene identification of the first complete genome of the B4 genome sequence of Thermobacterium thermophila in China, as well as in the research of the "1% Project" of the human genome and the working sketch of the rice genome. He is a pioneer and leader in theoretical biology, bioinformatics, and non coding RNA research in China. Academician Chen shared his thoughts on the current field of artificial intelligence and big models in his report, and introduced the medical multimodal intelligent integrated computing platform "Lingshu" developed by his team. Academician Chen stated that data is one of the key factors of artificial intelligence. In the biomedical field, long read, portable sequencing devices will be able to provide more genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data more conveniently, which will greatly promote the development and realization of "precision medicine".

Academician Chen Runsheng stated in his report

Researcher Liu Li, director of the Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that the universal translation of biology originated from the transformation of scientific research achievements of the Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Based on previous research results, Polyseq Biotechnology has launched its first nanopore sequencing system in just two years. The research institute will continue to support innovative research and development of nanopore sequencing technology, make breakthroughs in key areas, develop more products, and make greater contributions to the development of national life sciences and economy.

Long read sequencing is one of the main advantages of nanopore single-molecule gene sequencing and is receiving increasing attention. In the field of technology research and development, the renowned journal Nature Methods has selected long read sequencing as the method of the year for 2022. The theoretical sequencing read length of nanopore sequencing is not limited, it only depends on the read length of the sample nucleic acid. At present, PolyseqOne has obtained single read length data of over 200Kb.

At the press conference, Polyseq Biotechnology provided the PolysseqOne sequencer for on-site testing and demonstration. The attending guests can have zero distance contact with the sequencing machine host, sequencing chips, and sequencing reagents, and also have a deeper understanding of the process of nanopore sequencing.
